July 2026 Edition | New year. More benefits. More for you.

Principal Officer’s Foreword

A new financial year, with more for you.
‍

Dear Member,
‍
Welcome to a new financial year with Pulamed!
‍
As we begin 2026/27, we want you to know that your health and wellbeing remain at the heart of what we do. This year, we have made several enhancements to your benefits with a simple goal in mind: to give you more support when you need it most.
‍
From keeping your children covered for longer to reducing out-of-pocket costs and introducing additional support for members who need medical assistive devices, we are continuing to evolve your cover in line with your changing healthcare needs.
‍
We encourage you to take a moment to familiarise yourself with what’s new and make the most of your Pulamed benefits.
Here’s to a healthier year ahead.
‍
Dr. Khumoetsile Mapitse
‍Principal Officer

What’s new at Pulamed?

More support. Less out of pocket. More peace of mind.

Reduction / Removal of Out-of-Pocket (OOP) payments

Reducing out-of-pocket expenses remains one of Pulamed’s key priorities. Through continued investment and engagement with healthcare providers, we’ve enhanced benefits to make essential healthcare more affordable.

Hospitalisation

Removal of the 10% co-payment on hospitalisation below P30,000

Members will no longer be required to pay the previous mandatory 10% co-payment for eligible hospital admissions below P30,000, improving access to essential hospital care.
‍
Terms and conditions apply to hospital day care.

Medicines & Wellness Screening

Pulamed continues working with pharmacy and healthcare partners to reduce and eliminate tariff differences that result in member co-payments.
‍
In addition:Wellness screenings within the approved provider network will attract no co-payment.Ongoing tariff negotiations aim further to reduce member out-of-pocket costs across additional healthcare services.

Child dependants covered up to age 30

Recognising today’s economic realities and the challenges many families face, Pulamed has extended child dependent eligibility.
‍
Principal Members may now continue covering their child dependants up to the age of 30 years, providing families with greater peace of mind while young adults establish themselves financially. This enhancement helps ease the financial burden on parents and reinforces Pulamed’s commitment to supporting members through every stage of life.

Your benefits. Stand against FWAE.

Fraud, Waste, Abuse & Error (FWAE) can affect the sustainability of healthcare benefits for all members. Collusion between members and healthcare providers, including false claims, cash-for-claims arrangements, or misuse of benefits, undermines the responsible use of healthcare resources.
By using your benefits responsibly and reporting suspicious activity, you can help us protect quality healthcare for everyone.

Health and wellness

Health trends move fast. Your health is personal. There is always a new health trend telling us what we should be doing, from OMAD (one meal a day), protein shakes, cold plunges, 10K steps, gut health.
‍
So, before you follow the next health trend, check in with your own healthcare professional first. Pulamed wellness screenings are now available with no co-payment through our network of providers, supporting early detection and prevention. It’s a simple way to be more informed about your health, before a concern becomes a bigger one.
