Pulamed provides Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to all our members through our contracted partner Emergency Assist 991 (EA991). Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and comes at no extra cost.

Emergency Medical information and support
In the event of an emergency, the member may call 991 or (+267)390 4537 to request for medical assistance. Our call centre will require the below details to assist the caller:
- Provide Pulamed Membership or ID number for confirmation purposes.
- Describe the situation as concisely as possible as this will inform the level of assistance required by caller.
- Provide location for ambulance dispatch.

Escort Minors
EA991 will take care and provide escorted transport for stranded minors of the hospitalised or deceased parents or guardians.
Inter-hospital Transfer
EA991 or reciprocal service provider will provide the patient with transfers between hospitals.
In-hospital Monitoring
EA991 will monitor the member's medical condition while in the hospital and will keep nominated parties updated as per patient's instructions.
Medical Information 24 Hour Call Centre
This service offers telephonic advise to all our members on 24 hour basis, manned by experienced call centre agents and on-site paramedics.
Medical Repatriation
After medical treatment outside Botswana has been sought, EA991 may repatriate the patient back to Botswana.
Where death occurs outside the country, EA991 will assist with the repatriation of the member's mortal remains.
EA991 has a wide footprint with 10 offices across Botswana and a strategic partnership with Okavango Air Rescue for air-services or evacuation.
