Pulamed Covid-19 Emergency Evacuation and Support for Members

Pula Medical Aid Fund in partnership with Emergency Assist 991 (EA991), provides emergency evacuation and support for Pulamed Covid-19 Positive Members requiring emergency evacuations for hospitalization.  Additionally, as part of the emergency service, the Covid-19 Positive members will be provided with pulse oximeters and education on the device as and when there is a need. This emergency service is provided at no cost to Pulamed Members, as part of the Fund’s commitment of being there for members in times of great need.

Follow of Events;

  1. Covid positive cases will be assessed by Emergency Assist 991 team especially if hospitals are full.
  2. The paramedics will reassure the patient and family and the call centre will follow up on available beds at the Hospitals at all times
  3. As soon as a bed is available Emergency Assist 991 will book the bed and transfer the patient immediately
  4. Pulse oximeters will be distributed by Emergency Assist 991 to a Pulamed member that is Covid-19 positive and teach the member on how to use and understand the device.
  5. The pulse Oximeter will only be given to a patient that is Covid-19 positive, the patient must provide the covid test result when receiving the pulse oximeter
