I encountered an unbelievably frustrating and disappointing situation with Pula Med Medical Aid that I believe anyone considering their services should know. After consulting with a specialist for a health issue, a diagnostic test was recommended to identify the cause. Despite this, Pulamed rejected my diagnostic test, not once, but TWICE, under the guise of policy terms. The Specialist Dr at GPH tried his best to explain to them this is not a pre-existing condition, rather a diagnostic test to actually determine the cause of symptoms. Apparently PulaMed reps know better, dismissing the specialist's explanations with undue confidence. 
Pulamed seems to have a set of fine print in their policies that conveniently comes into play to justify claim rejections. Be sure to read each line of their policy terms and also be prepared for twists and turns, when it’s time for a claim. Their interpretations will surely differ from yours.
Lesson learnt, PulaMed will not cover any expensive diagnostic tests in the first 2 years of you joining the medical aid, under the guise of pre-existing condition/major intervention.

I contacted a number of officersby email but my query was not resolved. They would just read my emails and not attend to my query. Keletso Nene Sebele,Leungo Mokotedi, Emily Diwanga, Towana Chimbise just to mention a few. This is very dissapointing.

No communication, no feedback, difficult to get feedback and staff are not able to provide accurate information. Getting a refund doesn’t happen. Medical providers are not even willing to accept my Executive membership with Pula as they say the medical aid doesn’t pay them. When we claim, we do not receive feedback, nor a refund. Most disappointing experience.

Rushed to make payment at the bank as no payment options available at Pula office, returned with proof of payment and requested reactivation of membership, was informed not possible and will have to wait 24hrs. Resigned and accepted nothing could be done. 5 Days later membership still suspended. Called in and numerous promises made by a certain client agent to call me back SOON! NOTHING!! My Pula experience!!

He finished last year on 31 May 2022 but the deductions continued on for 3 months. I made countless follow-ups through telephone and email. I have never received my refund neither have I received any update.
